I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
