Intensive Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty missiles struck energy facilities, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
